Terms of Use

Last updated: 24 June 2026 · Version 1.0 (DRAFT)

Draft for review. This document is an initial draft and is being finalised with legal counsel before launch.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a contract between you and ChefNet LLC ("ChefNet", "we"). By creating an account or using the ChefNet app or website (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who can use ChefNet

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. Features involving alcohol-related content are intended for users of legal drinking age.

3. What ChefNet does

ChefNet helps you discover restaurants, get personalised recommendations from an AI companion, and request bookings. ChefNet is a platform that connects diners and independent restaurants. We are not the restaurant, do not prepare food, and are not responsible for the food, service or premises of any venue.

4. Your account

5. AI companion — important

The AI companion provides suggestions to assist you; it can make mistakes and its recommendations are not guarantees. Always confirm allergies, ingredients, prices and availability directly with the restaurant before relying on them. ChefNet is not liable for decisions you make based on AI output.

6. Bookings & deposits

When you book, the restaurant's own policy applies, including any refundable deposit, cancellation window and no-show fee, which are set by the restaurant. Deposits and charges are handled by our payment processor. Disputes about a meal or service are between you and the restaurant; we will help where we reasonably can.

7. CHEF points

CHEF points are a closed-loop loyalty balance redeemable only inside ChefNet (e.g. toward eligible orders or bookings). They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between users. We may adjust or expire points to prevent abuse.

8. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful activity, no harassment, no scraping or reverse engineering, no attempts to disrupt or gain unauthorised access, and no false or abusive bookings.

9. Content & intellectual property

The Service, its design, and the ChefNet brand are owned by ChefNet LLC. You keep ownership of content you submit (e.g. photos), and you grant us a licence to use it to operate and improve the Service. Restaurant and place data may belong to the restaurants or our data providers.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ChefNet is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for the acts of restaurants or third parties. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to ChefNet LLC's place of establishment, to be confirmed in the final published version. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence are unaffected.
